After lunch we went to the Dokumentationszentrum Reichsparteitagsgelaende. This is a museum filled with interesting information about Nuremberg's history as a center for National Socialism activity. It is located in what would have been Hitler's Congress Hall. It was never finished but it would have been at least twice the height and would have had a roof as well. Here are a few pictures.
At this point in time the buildings are being saved from demolition. There is some debate as to whether that's what will ultimately be done. I can understand why the people in the city would want to move on from this horrific past that is forever bound to them. Their connection to this is not erased if the buildings are gone. Keeping them keeps a very big reminder to future generations to never let evil rise again.

THIS IS WHAT THE BUILDING WOULD HAVE LOOKED LIKE IF IT HAD BEEN FINISHED. IT GIVES ME A CHILL. |
THE MUSEUM TOOK A COUPLE OF HOURS TO GO THROUGH (AUDIO TRANSLATORS A MUST); THE MUSEUM WAS ONLY HOUSED IN THE RECTANGULAR BUILDING ON THE LOWER RIGHT. |
