DRIVING TO SALZBURG

Before we left Innsbruck we decided to take a detour to see the 1964/1976 Olympic Ski Jump.  Wow!  Can't believe anyone has the guts to actually do this!  While we were waiting for the tram to take us up to the top we actually saw 3 skiers practicing jumps!   They were really great.  They wet down the green padding with water.  They only made two jumps while we were there so it was good timing on our part.

OKAY - SO DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK THAT IT'S
WEIRD THAT THE SKIERS ARE JUMPING DIRECTLY IN VIEW OF THIS CEMETERY?   KIND OF CREEPY.

WEEEEE!!

YOU CAN HAVE LUNCH WITH A NICE VIEW

We finished up and then we were on our way to Salzburg.  The scenery was different; a little less mountains.  But still very pretty.  We are staying at a hotel just on the outskirts of the town.  When I booked it I didn't realize we were a 10 minute drive.  But not a big deal.  Here are a couple of pictures from our drive.   Tomorrow we will explore Salzburg.

.
THIS CAME OUT A LITTLE BLURRY - BUT I THOUGHT THAT
BREAK IN THE ROCK LOOKED INTERESTING.  PROBABLY A
POPULAR SPOT FOR ROCK CLIMBERS

  1. I can't imagine living daily life in such a picture postcard scene. Love the photo with the corn growing in front of the mountain range.
