CHARLOTTENBURG PALACE - BERLIN

BLUE SKIES GREETED US ON SUNDAY MORNING.  WE STARTED OUR DAY AT THE PANORAMAPUNKT BUILDING WHICH IS NEAR THE TIERGARTEN SECTION OF THE CITY.  WITH THE SUN SHINING WE GOT A NICE VIEW OF THE CITY FROM THE 24TH FLOOR.

AN EASY RIDE ON THE SUBWAY AND WE WERE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF THE CHARLOTTENBURG PALACE.   THE PALACE WAS BUILT IN THE LATE 17TH CENTURY AND WAS SIGNIFICANTLY EXPANDED IN THE 18TH CENTURY.   IT WAS HEAVILY DAMAGED DURING WORLD WAR II.

A GROUP OF LITTLE GIRLS DRESSED AS PRINCESSES FOR A DAY AT THE PALACE!

FREDRICH III - HE ACTUALLY DID NOT RESIDE IN THE PALACE UNTIL AFTER SOPHIE'S DEATH IN 1705

SOPHIE CHARLOTTE WIFE OF FREDRICH III

THIS ROOM WAS AMAZING.  EVERY SQUARE INCH DECORATED IN THIS BLUE AND WHITE CHINA.

THIS IS THE CHAPEL ROOM.

NOT A BAD TABLE SETTING.   PROBABLY THEIR EVERY-DAY WARE.
