So this is my first post on my blog. My intentions are to keep you all informed of our exciting adventure as we make our move to Belgium. Randy's job assignment is for three years for SAPPI Fine Paper Europe. After the very long paperwork trail he finally got over there to start work in mid-January 2012. I'll be over there with the boys for a week in April. When the boys are done with school we'll move over there for our extended stay (end of June). The four of us will be there all summer. We have some vacation time planned which I am very excited about. I will post about it when they happen!! In the meantime, I will post some pictures of the house that Randy has taken. He's traveling a lot right now; Innsbruck, Frankfurt, Milan, Helsinki to name a few.
The pictures above are of the house and property which we are renting. It's a furnished house in Lasne. Lasne is southeast of Brussels and just east of Waterloo, Belgium. Mark will be attending St. John's International School in Waterloo. I have not seen the house yet but Mark was with Randy when they picked it out. It's quite nice. Pre-World War II. Four bedrooms which includes a guest bedroom with a full bath...hint hint! We'll probably buy a comfy sofa to watch television and we'll also get a new dining room table. Both of which we'll bring back in a few years.
At this point, my job is to learn French, learn to drive a manual car and get through the process of moving myself, the boys, and the pets over there in June! If someone told me I'd be doing this at 48 I never would have believed them! But I'm really excited about it and even though I'll miss the States and I'll miss all my family and friends I know its a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity so I'm going for it! Most likely I won't post daily but keep an eye out for posts and especially for pictures!
Au Revoir!
